The City Council of the City of Columbus, Texas met in a special session on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at 7:00 P.M., in the Stafford Opera House located at 425 Spring Street, Columbus, Texas, with the following present:

1. Call to Order:

Mayor Frnka called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M., February 7, 2001.

2. Town Hall Meeting to Receive Comments Pertaining to Three Proposals Outlining Various Areas Where Manufactured Homes Would Not be Allowed to be Located Within the City Limits:

Mayor Frnka welcomed everyone and reviewed the guidelines for comments. Mayor Frnka also read the definition of a mobile home and a HUD manufactured home. She also reviewed the laws governing manufactured housing in municipalities. Mayor Frnka introduced council and recognized the following Planning and Zoning Commission members who were present: Henry Potter, Dr. Arun Nayar, Mary Ellen Prause, Tracey Lilie, Robin Garcia, Annie Mae Hargrove, and Judy Barrett.

Mr. Buddy Rau prepared and presented a fourth map showing areas in which he was proposing manufactured homes be restricted. Various other citizens addressed Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission with their comments and concerns about restriction of manufactured homes and the various proposals outlining areas in which they would be restricted.

3. Adjournment:

There being no further business Mayor Frnka declared the council meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
